If it is bruising from leakage of blood under the tissue of your arm, it is not serious and it will go away on it's own in a few days. If it is making your arm uncomfortable, applying ice for 10 minutes at a time about 4 times a day may help. You can also take tylenol for the discomfort.

If it does not go away within a week or if it becomes warm and tender, see your physician for an evaluation.

Reply to Nancy's Post: I have not noticed bleeding from anywhere else??
My arm feels when I lift it almost like a sore muscle.I feel no lumps, a little swelled and tender whet Itouch and feel along the length of the bruise.I have never experienced this intense bruising. I have blood drawn alot in the past (female problems) never a problem....What could have caused this?

That is how I would expect it to feel, like a sore muscle.

What could have caused this? .......I suspect that after the blood was drawn, since pressure was not placed on the area, the blood seeped out of the hole in your vein and under your skin to form the bruise. Blood does not belong under your skin and causes the bruising and tenderess that you are describing.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!!
