i have in the past had to take ultram for pain during my ...

i have in the past had to take ultram for pain during my period. i have found that when i take it, it gives me energy and just makes me feel better. i also find that i do not get depressed on this medication or stressed out. due to a thyroid problem i am unable to take antidepressents but these really do help me. why can i not take them for these things?
