what is the small lump on my neck?
Sent to Health Experts August 24 01:18 AM

A few weeks ago i noticed a small lump on the right side of my neck. It is very minor (about the size of a dime) and can only be seen if someone is looking for it, especially when i turn to the side. Along with the lump, I have recently had an ongoing small cough with flem that will not go away. I feel as though it is tougher than it once was to take a deep breath. on top of that, i have noticed light color skin blotches on my shoulders. I am not sure if the skin impairment is related, but it may be. what could be wrong?

Hi,
While without a physical examination it is tough to be sure, I would consider the possibilities of a either a lymph node, OR a lipoma (fat tumor), OR a thyroid swelling (if it moves with swallowing).
I believe that a physical examination by your physician should help in differentiating these causes and starting appropriate treatment,
Cough could be a related problem to lymphnode swelling,

Reply to Gaurav Gupta's Post: Thank you for your timely response. There are a few other symptoms i would like to reveal. My neck seems mildly swollen and i can now actually grasp what feels like fatty tissue under the skin. I have also started to feel more tired during the day. could this be something more serious than Lipoma or a lymph node problem?
