I am an 83-year old female. For 11 months I have been having problems with my "head". Some vertigo but, mostly, just that my head does not ''feel good''. I have been to my M.D. many times, to a neurologist, an ENT. Have had an MRI; an EEG; my hearing tested. The ENT thought it might be Meniere''s disease but meds for that have not helped me any and the tests I had done did not show anything unusual. My M.D.''s conclusion is that it is something I will just have to ''live with''. About 3 weeks ago a friend suggested that it could be Otoconia (ear rocks). I have been to a Physical Therapist 3 times recently and he did the Epley/Semont Maneuver which gave me relief within a few hours, which would last about 4 days and then come back. It is back again and I am worse than before. I NEED HELP and do not know where to turn to. Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

Hi,
If repositioning maneouvres help, then the possibility of otoliths (ear calcuil ) is likely.
This can be managed by repeating these procedures at home/ with the physical therapist.
Generally around 3-4 visits may provide significant relief of symptoms.
There are other procedures similar to Epley's that can be discussed with your ENT specialist.
There are certain things that can be done at home too, to provide long term relief,

All the best
I know this can be a tough disease to manage, I have personal experience with this, and I do hope that you get well soon,
