Most people use a nonprescription product such as salicylic acid, but this can take a long time so they usually go to their doctor for freezing the wart. It would usually take between 2-3 months for salicylic acid to work. Salicylic acid formulas include Compound W Wart Remover, Occlusal, and Salacid.
Another home treatment is tape occlusion (duct tape), in which you use tape to cover the wart for a period of time. This treatment takes 1 to 2 months.
One newer product out on the market is Dr. Scholl's Freeze Away Wart Remover which is the same method as if you went to a dr.
