I have a cyst on the inside of my right forefinger that looks like a bunion. What is it?

Does anything come out when you pop this cyst?

Do you have any pain or discomfort associated with it?

Does the cyst feel or look more on the outside or the inside of the finger?

Reply to James's Post: The cyst first showed up about 3 months ago. It's occasionally painful when I bump it. Nothing came out when I tried to pop it and it's definitely on the outside of the finger. It really looks just like a bunion.

This may be a common wart or a ganglion cyst. I advise that you see a dermatologist about this problem for accurate diagnosis and treatment. If this is a wart then the dermatologist can try to freeze it off which takes a couple of weeks for results. He/she may shave the area down also. If it is a ganglion cyst that has protruded so much that it is very noticable on the finger then the doctor may take a biopsy of it or extract any fluid with a small needle.
