Tough to say whether HPV was contracted 2 years ago, since the
diagnosis of HPV is difficult. It is possible for a female to have HPV
and be asymptomatic or have any only minimal skin changes.
As far as you are concerned, Males can get HPV, but it often is not
associated with any health risks. Genital warts can occur in men, but
it is less common than women. When HPV causes warts in men, the warts
usually occur around the anus, scrotum, or on and under the foreskin of
the penis.
Most of the times HPV is a benign self limited disease that the body
gets rid of within a couple of years, so other than a follow-up for
your girlfreind, I really do not think anything else is needed.
