I am having very heavy bleeding with large blood clots for the first 24 hours of my period the nothing more for the rest of the cycle.    Also Since my last period which was Dec 24 the start date my breast have been sore like they would be if cycle was starting over again. This is about the 5 or 6th months this has been happening and the bleeding and clots are getting worse with each cycle.

Dear Ms Customer (name blocked for privacy),

Are you on any hormones or birthcontrol pills? If yes, what are they? Are you taking any herbal supplements?

Hi,

Thanks for answering my questions. I am sorry that you are going through this. The heavy period that you describe is called menorrhagia. There are several possible causes: hormonal fluctuations, fibroids, polyps, cancer,, lupus, thyroid disorder among others.

You need to have a good physical exam by your health provider or nurse midwife (they do all women's health care not just deliveries) to determine the state of your uterus, hormonal levels, and solutions to the bleeding.

I am providing you a link to some informantion so that you may arm your self with questions to take to your provider. I know you are worried, and getting an exam will ease you worries and symptoms.

I hope this helps you. Paula
